Fundraising Activities
Cadets is a program provided free of charge to all youth in Canada by the Department of National Defence and the Government of Canada. The mandatory training part of the program is funded by the Department of National Defence. Fund raising supports additional optional activities such as Band, Biathlon, Marksmanship, Effective Speaking, sports, and year-end trips. As stated on other pages (here), cadets are not part of the military, nor is there any expectation to join. Cadets is a youth program sponsored by the federal government to develop Canada's youth.
To support additional squadron activities, the cadets fund raise in the following ways:

- Fall and Spring Tag Day: usually conducted in October and April. Cadets are located at cooperating businesses across the city where they give out small stickers or tags in exchange for donations.
- Poppy Tag Day: usually conducted in late October or November in support of Canadian Veterans. Cadets are located at cooperating businesses across the city where they give out Poppies in exchange for donations.
- Air Cadet League Car Raffle Tickets: on-going throughout the year, each cadet is encouraged to sell tickets towards a draw for a car.
- 1 or 2 alternate campaigns as needed to fund planned optional activities such as year end trips.
